BRIDGE Relay
A high-frequency support action for sensing, transmitting, and amplifying ideas and innovation in the EU energy system
BRIDGE Relay builds on BRIDGE, the European Commission initiative that, since 2015, has connected Horizon-funded projects in smart grids, energy storage, islands and digitalisation. As a dedicated support action, it acts as a high-frequency transmission system, collecting, organising and amplifying the knowledge of more than 100 projects, and turning it into evidence for policymaking, opportunities for collaboration, and greater visibility and uptake of results.
Its aim: to help Europe’s smart energy community speak with one voice for a secure, sustainable and competitive energy transition.
Its work is organised around four Working Groups, supported by dedicated Task Forces:
- Regulation
- Business Models
- Data Management
- Consumer & Citizen Engagement
Project’s objectives
- Consolidate BRIDGE Relay as Europe’s reference point for energy research and innovation
- Connect and amplify knowledge from more than 100 EU-funded energy projects
- Support evidence-based policymaking and cross-project collaboration
- Increase the visibility, uptake and social acceptance of results
- Foster inclusiveness, co-creation and citizen-centred engagement
